SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
BOUNDARIES FOR THE RELATIONSHIP
I can’t accept requests to become friend or link with current or former clients on social media platforms as this could compromise confidentiality and blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship.
Should we ever run into each other outside of therapy sessions, I will leave you to choose whether or not you want to acknowledge our connection and will respond, should you choose to say hello but will otherwise not interact with you, so as to maintain confidentiality and boundaries. The code of ethics I abide by does not allow the acceptance of gifts, and you should not feel any need to offer one during the course of our therapeutic relationship or at the end of our work together.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND ELECTRONIC INFORMATION POLICY
As per the above, I cannot accept requests to connect over social media and ask that clients do not contact me through those channels either through @replies or tagging.
Our code of ethics does not allow the publishing or testimonials or reviews so I will never post any or ask you for one.
Clients are free to post whatever they choose, however due to the respect of confidentiality, I will not comment or “like” anything posted or follow clients on social media.
I will not look up clients on google or social media, unless motivated by a concern for your safety. Should this ever happen, I would discuss it with you at our next session. I do not at present have professional social media accounts so do not post in my student of therapy capacity.
